| My name is Jessica Turansky and I live in Canton, Ohio. I have been showing and training dogs for 15 years. My dogs are shown in both AKC and UKC conformation. Along with very limited showing in obedience and rally. I am a Kennel Helper and Dog Groomer at Promway Kennels. I started in 1993 with a Pit Bull/German Shepherd Mix I trained her in obedience shortly after joining Hall Of Fame 4-H Dog Club, which my sister was already a member of. Bandit and I never made it to the Ohio State Fair, but it was a great learning experience for the both of us, since we were both new to the show world. As my sister aged out of 4-H that’s when I had a chance to work with the two Belgian Sheepdogs we owned at the time. In my 10 years in 4-H I have shown/trained 4 different Belgian Sheepdogs, a Golden Retriever and a Pit Bull/German Shepherd Mix. I competed at the Ohio State Fair every year starting in 1995-2003 in either Grooming & Handling, Obedience, and/or Agility. In 1995 was when I obtained my first “show” dog. We got Inde from Barb Ward who at the time was also my 4-H advisor. Inde was the whole reason I grew to love the breed even more. Inde is not only my first AKC Champion but the first dog I ever shown at the Ohio State Fair. I thank Barb for all her help and knowledge! To spice things up I wanted to add a different breed to my training in 4-H. That’s when I bought my Golden Retriever, Riley. I never wanted to show in the breed ring with a Golden, so Riley was prefect for the obedience and agility ring. He was a wild boy, but very loveable. We competed in 4-H obedience and agility along with UKC obedience and USDAA agility. In 2003 is when I became involved with Boxers. Always have loved the breed. The Boxer ring in my area in AKC is tough and I’m glad to say I have gotten 2 points on Harley. Always owner/handled. As you may notice I also own an Australian Shepherd. You can also find me in the breed ring with him also. I will continue on my love for Belgian Sheepdogs and Boxers. Don’t forget to sign my guestbook and thanks for stopping by! |
