Litters

We generally breed one litter every three to four years.

 No plans at this time.

Serious Inquiries welcomed.

As we typically reserve a few puppies far in advance of a planned breeding, availability may be limited depending on litter size. Our pups are well suited for conformation/show, performance sports (agility, herding, dock diving, obedience, rally, nose work, etc.) or working homes (Search and Rescue, and Service Dogs, etc.), but we do have a couple of pet pups out of each litter suitable for active companion homes who are prepared to spend the training time required for a active breed as Belgian Sheepdogs tend to be. We highly recommend doing your research before deciding if this is the right breed for you as they do not suit everyone's lifestyle.  ALL puppies are born and raised in our house, using the Avidog Adventure Box, Dean Lake's Puppy Sounds CD, Dean Lake's Obedience Trial Sounds CD, Dean Lake's Indoor Agility Trial Sounds CD, Wobble Board, Tippy Board, Tunnel, Shallow Pool of Water, Mini A-Frame, and more...

What to expect from Lightning Belgians with each litter.

  • Between 7-8 weeks the puppies will be temperament tested using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test (PAT).

  • Between 9-10 weeks the puppies will have structural evaluations done, to determine show prospects.

  • Puppies head to their new homes at 10 weeks.

  • All the proper paperwork documenting the vaccination and worming schedule will be provided to you.

Before you receive your puppy, it will be:

  • Wormed (2, 4,6,8, and 10 weeks)

  • Vaccinated (First puppy shot, given by my Vet)

  • Bathed (blow dried, nails trimmed regularly)

  • Vet checked for any congenital defects.

  • Micro chipped (AKC Reunite)

Your puppy will be started in:

  • Housebreaking (may still have accidents)

  • Leash walking

  • Crate training

  • Socialization

In order to qualify for a Lightning Belgian Sheepdog puppy, we require the following:

  • A completed Questionnaire.

  • A fenced yard or other suitable outdoor containment

  • A non-refundable deposit of $400 with the balance of the puppy due before it heads to its new home. Deposits are taken once litter is born. (Only if approved)

  • The understanding that breeding these dogs is the result of intense study of bloodlines and health on our part, and we do not sell them to the first person with money in their hand.

We will NOT sell to:

  • Puppy brokers

  • Laboratories

  • Large scale kennels (puppy mills)

* We also do not ship our puppies! *

  • All puppies will be AKC registered. We will register them for you!

  • Pet puppies will be sold with AKC Limited Registration and a Spay/Neuter Contract (We will register them with AKC for you.)

  • UKC papers available upon request, we will register them for you.
